We are seeking a motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, and hydraulic system inspections to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, engine issues, transmissions, air brakes, suspension components, and hydraulics using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Assist with equipment assembly, installation, and testing of new machinery or upgrades to existing assets.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
- Support heavy equipment operation when required by demonstrating proper handling techniques and safety procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in dealership or industrial settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair principles.
- Proficiency with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics for various brands such as Caterpillar or similar manufacturers.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and the use of power tools for custom repairs or modifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Experience servicing construction machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance procedures.
