American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring prior travel experience and a KY or compact RN license.
-
Work in the Cardiac Stepdown/Advanced Heart Care unit of a hospital setting
-
Blended acuity patient population with ratios of approximately 1:5-6
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 1900-0700
-
Every other weekend required, negotiable
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Meditech charting experience preferred
-
Active KY or Compact RN license required in hand
-
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (obtained in hand)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a certified stroke center or stroke unit required
-
Previous travel nursing experience required
-
Competency in stroke signs/symptoms assessment (e.g., BE-FAST) required

Bedside dysphagia screening competency required
-
Familiarity with current stroke guidelines and performance measures for acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes

Skills required include IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and cardiac drip management
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization required

Provide advanced cardiac care nursing to a stepdown/telemetry patient population
-
Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-cardiac cath/surgery care

Orientation is held on Mondays
-
Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and must appear on the confirmation document
-
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
-
Must reside within a 30-minute response time of the facility in case of emergency

65-mile radius restriction applies; local travelers are not accepted

Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
