What We Are Looking For:
IT Manager – WMS & Client Systems
Charlotte, NC | Onsite | Full-Time
We're looking for a hands-on IT Manager to lead technology for our multi-client warehouse and transportation operation. You'll own our Camelot WMS platform, drive the technical setup behind every new client go-live, and be the connection point between IT, Operations, and the business — from the executive team down to the warehouse floor.
This is more than a systems role. You'll lead a team, manage vendors, and be a visible, trusted problem-solver across the company.
What You'll Do
- Lead the internal IT team and manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and software partners, including contract negotiation.
- Become our Camelot WMS super user and subject-matter expert — supporting configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Own new client technology onboarding end-to-end: scoping requirements, configuring WMS/TMS, building EDI integrations, and connecting e-commerce and fulfillment platforms (Shopify, Amazon, marketplaces, order management systems).
- Maintain databases supporting the WMS and business applications, using SQL for reporting, troubleshooting, and data validation.
- Own day-to-day cybersecurity: endpoint protection, access controls, patching, and backup/disaster-recovery procedures.
- Support ~90 Microsoft 365 users, company hardware/software, and general end-user technology needs.
- Partner directly with clients and business development on technology needs during sales and implementation.
- Train employees at every level — from executives to hourly warehouse staff — and build clear documentation and procedures.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing corporate technology.
- Progressive IT experience, including hands-on WMS, ERP, TMS, or similar business-critical system support.
- Experience with EDI development, troubleshooting, and implementations.
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure and operations, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud or virtualized environments.
- Proficiency in systems administration and enterprise applications used in logistics, warehousing, or transportation (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP platforms).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, access control, data protection, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to executives, managers, and warehouse staff alike.
- Prior management or team-leadership experience.
- Ability to manage and develop an IT team, including performance management, coaching, and workload prioritization.
- Camelot WMS, 3PL/multi-client warehouse, or transportation/logistics experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
The Ideal Candidate
- The ideal candidate is a technology professional, business partner, problem solver, and people leader.
- You're someone who can sit in an executive meeting discussing cybersecurity and technology strategy in the morning, walk onto the warehouse floor to troubleshoot a WMS issue, train an hourly employee, and then work with a customer or vendor on an EDI implementation.
- You don't have to know everything about Camelot on day one—but you must have the curiosity and ability to become the expert.
- You enjoy learning how a business operates and then finding ways technology can make it better.
- You are approachable. You listen. You communicate. You build relationships. You take ownership.
- Most importantly, you understand that successful IT is ultimately about people and the business—not just technology.
Good to Know
- This is an onsite role in Charlotte, NC.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- A background check and drug test are required in accordance with local law and regulations.
Ready to lead our technology and WMS environment into its next stage of growth? We'd love to hear from you.
