Project Hair Co is located inside Salons by JC Novi in private suites 13, 15, & 17. Our stylists are hair replacement experts that offer customized solutions. Our goal is to provide an experience where clients feel listened to, understood, and happy with their results. Project Hair Co is also an educational consulting business offering apprenticeships to hairstylists to help them learn the amazing niche of hair replacement. All of our stylists use their knowledge, skill, and compassion to help restore confidence to those who have lost hair.

Role Overview
As a Hair Replacement Specialist, your primary goal is to help clients restore their confidence by assessing hair loss, recommending personalized solutions, and performing customized fittings and maintenance of hair systems. You will work independently and privately, but with a team of experienced cosmetologists to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Consultation: Conduct private, sensitive consultations to assess hair loss, explain various non-surgical replacement options, and set realistic expectations.
- System Customization & Fitting: Accurately template, fit, customize, cut, and blend non-surgical hair systems, wigs, and cranial prosthetics for a natural look.
- Maintenance & Styling: Perform routine maintenance on hair systems, including removal, scalp and hairpiece cleaning, rebonding, and styling.
- Scalp Care: Advise clients on proper scalp health, at-home care, and recommend suitable products to maintain natural hair and system longevity.
- Education & Support: Provide compassionate emotional support and guidance to clients throughout their hair restoration journey.
- Sanitation: Maintain an organized, sterilized, and private work environment in accordance with state board regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Valid Michigan Cosmetology or Barbering License.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in hair replacement, wig styling, custom cutting, or advanced hair extensions.
- Empathy & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, handle sensitive situations with discretion, and make clients feel valued.
- Technical Skills: Precision cutting, coloring, and blending skills. Experience working with adhesives, tapes, and various base materials (poly, lace, monofilament).
- Adaptability: Willingness to undergo in-house training on our proprietary techniques and product lines.
