Job Summary:
The Fine Art Operator Specialist is responsible for producing, handling, and finishing fine art prints and artwork using specialized printing and imaging equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, color accuracy, quality control, and knowledge of fine art materials and production processes. The specialist works closely with artists, photographers, designers, and production teams to ensure exceptional results that meet client and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate large-format fine art printers and related production equipment.

Select appropriate fine art papers, canvases, and specialty media.

Inspect finished prints for quality, consistency, and defects.

Handle, package, and store artwork using archival standards.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of printing equipment.

Maintain production schedules while meeting deadlines.

Collaborate with artists, photographers, and customers to achieve desired results.

Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean production environment.

Keep accurate production records and inventory of materials.
Additional Key Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and assemble custom frames for artwork and photography.

Mat, mount, and frame artwork using archival-quality materials and techniques.

Handle delicate artwork with care to prevent damage during framing and installation.

Select appropriate frame styles, matting, and glazing based on artwork specifications and customer preferences.

Inspect completed framed pieces to ensure quality, alignment, and professional presentation.

Package framed artwork for shipping, delivery, or gallery display.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Photography, or a related field preferred.

Experience with large-format printers such as Epson, Canon, or HP.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop.

Understanding of color management and print production techniques.

Strong attention to detail and quality control.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to lift and move artwork and materials (up to 50 lbs if required).

Experience in fine art printing or digital print production is preferred.
