Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. We would like someone who is active and willing to take our loved one out in the community. In this role, you will provide essential support to our loved one with intellectual disabilities and special needs, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with our loved one to assist them in daily activities such as light house cleaning, implement care plans, and promote independence while fostering a supportive environment. Please NOTE this is a PER DIEM Position
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities: community activities, food shopping etc.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' social engagement and mental health.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance caregiving skills.
- Participate in Random Drug Testing

Experience
- Previous experience in companionship preferred.
- Familiarity with care plans and patient monitoring techniques is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A compassionate approach to assisting individuals in need of support while promoting their dignity and independence.
