Adventures Learning Center – Portage is Hiring a Summer Camp Lead Teacher!

At Adventures Learning Center, we believe summer is a vital time for discovery, growth, and community. We are looking for a dynamic leader to spearhead our school-age summer camp program.
Pay range: Commensurate with experience and education.
Responsibilities
As the Summer Camp Lead Teacher, you will:
- Lead & Implement: Design and execute a high-energy, engaging, and developmentally appropriate summer curriculum filled with project-based learning, outdoor recreation, STEM activities, and creative arts for children ages 5–12.
- Classroom & Group Management: Oversee daily camp operations, transitions, and field trips while maintaining a safe, organized, and positive team environment in alignment with state licensing and center standards.
- Foster Community: Build strong, positive relationships with campers, communicate effectively with families about daily highlights, and collaborate seamlessly with co-teachers.
- Documentation & Safety: Maintain accurate attendance, behavior logs, and child records while ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and licensing protocols at all times.
Schedule Note: Full Monday–Friday availability is required for the duration of the summer camp season.
Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates are dependable, high-energy, creative, organized, and ready to bring fun to every single day!
- Experience: A proven passion for working with school-age youth (ages 5–12) in a licensed childcare, summer camp, or recreational setting (required).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Child Development, Recreation Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain immediately upon hire.
- Clearance: Willing to submit to and pass a comprehensive comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to actively engage with children outdoors, participate in recreational activities, and lift at least 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
