Steelhead Metal Corp, a precision sheet metal, machining, and powder-coating manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Documentation Specialist to join our Quality Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical data, preparing formal inspection reports, and supporting a high-performance manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The Quality Documentation Specialist is responsible for compiling, preparing, and submitting First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, quality documentation packages, and other regulatory or customer-required reports. The role works closely with Quality Inspectors, Engineering, Customer Service and Production to ensure that all documentation accurately reflects inspection results, drawing requirements, and customer specifications.
This is primarily a documentation and report-preparation role with opportunities to grow into broader quality and metrology functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and compile First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102 or customer-specific formats).
- Bubble technical drawings and extract characteristics for inspection.
- Collect, organize, and verify measurement data from inspectors and metrology equipment.
- Create, maintain, and submit quality documentation packages for customers.
- Support the Quality Manager with regulatory, compliance, and customer-driven reporting.
- Assist in document control tasks and maintain accurate records in accordance with ISO 9001.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve missing information, discrepancies, or clarifications.
- Finalize paperwork for shipments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing FAI / Inspection Reports (1Factory software a PLUS)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical drawings (preferred but not required).
- Basic metrology knowledge (calipers, micrometers, CMM data, etc.) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic required; advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting are a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
