Job Title: Part-Time Maintenance Worker

Job Summary
The Part-Time Maintenance Worker maintains a safe, operational, and comfortable environment for our 40-bed senior facility. This role requires strong, hands-on expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems to manage daily facility upkeep independently. We offer flexible scheduling for a skilled technician who balances technical expertise with a compassionate attitude toward elderly residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on commercial and residential HVAC units.
- Change HVAC filters, clean coils, clear condensate lines, and monitor thermostats regularly.
- Resolve plumbing issues including clearing clogged drains, fixing leaks, and replacing faucets.
- Repair or replace facility toilets, water heaters, garbage disposals, and flush valves.
- Handle general building repairs including basic electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
- Prepare vacant resident rooms for new move-ins efficiently.
- Test safety equipment monthly, including emergency call lights, smoke alarms, and fire systems.
- Track and document all completed work orders and preventative maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of general building maintenance or handyman experience.
- Prior experience working in assisted living or healthcare environments preferred.
- Basic knowledge of local Queen Creek building safety and fire codes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and fingerprint clearance.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum 2 years of proven professional handyman or building maintenance experience.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school experience.
- Previous maintenance work in healthcare, hospitality, or assisted living is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with standard building safety codes and local Arizona regulations.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
- Must pass an Arizona fingerprint clearance card check, background screening, and drug test.
