POSITION TITLE:

Repair Crew

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To maintain and repair furniture, equipment and other items wherever needed throughout the District. This position will entail some extended hours, evenings, and weekends.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist moving crew when necessary.

Responsible for repairs assigned by repair crew lead.

Responsible for seeing that all work schedules assigned by repair crew lead are carried out.

Repair and maintain furniture, equipment and other items as assigned.

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of repair shop.

Assist in the set-up of special District events.

Support activities of repair crew lead.

Assume the responsibilities of a custodian when necessary.

Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain confidentiality.

Regular attendance.

Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Some mechanical experience
Safe driving record

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Valid High School Diploma, GED, or related experience
Valid Texas Driver’s License

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Organizational skills
Communication skills
Must be able to operate all vehicles and equipment belonging to Custodial
Must have strong mechanical skills

EQUIPMENT USED:

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner, District delivery vehicles, forklift, electric drill, hand tools, etc.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Working indoors and outdoors. Lifting of heavy furniture and equipment (up to 75 pounds).
