Position Overview
Our agency is seeking an experienced Travel OR Tech / Surgical Technologist for a contract assignment at Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
This is a high-acuity Level I Trauma OR opportunity for a skilled Surgical Technologist with strong experience in neurosurgery, spine, complex orthopedic trauma, and advanced general surgery cases.
Travel experience is preferred. Candidates must be comfortable working in a busy academic medical center with complex surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience
- Level I Trauma OR experience required
- Level II Trauma experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required
- BLS/BCLS certification required
- Epic experience preferred
- Strong sterile technique and instrumentation skills
- Must be available for call requirements

Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields; set up operating rooms, surgical trays, instruments, and specialty equipment for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures by performing scrub duties, instrument handling, and surgical case support
- Perform surgical counts, maintain aseptic technique, and follow universal precautions, infection prevention, and OR safety standards
- Process surgical specimens, support sterilization/disinfection protocols, and assist with complex OR procedures, trauma cases, emergency surgeries, and perioperative team collaboration
Schedule & Call Requirements
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts
Hours: 18:30 – 07:00
Call Required
- Monday–Friday: 21:00 – 06:30
- Saturday/Sunday: 12-hour call shifts
Weekend coverage may be required based on department scheduling.
