Responsibilities
- Create a variety of braid styles, including Microbraids, Feed-in braids, Knotless braids, and intricate custom designs tailored to client preferences
- Consult with clients to understand their desired looks and provide professional recommendations based on hair type and face shape
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly cleaning tools, implements, and workstations after each client
- Assist with hair care treatments such as conditioning, scalp treatments, and hair extensions application to enhance overall client satisfaction
- Use salon software systems like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Upsell additional services such as hair coloring, eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care to enhance the client experience
- Stay current with industry trends in hair styling, braiding techniques, and product innovations to continually elevate your craft
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on hairstyling or braiding techniques
- Knowledge of salon software platforms like MINDBODY for appointment booking and client management
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols specific to cosmetology and barbering practices
- Strong communication skills for effective client consultations and team collaboration
- Experience working with diverse hair types and textures, including hair extensions and hair coloring applications
- Ability to mentor junior team members or apprentices in braiding techniques and customer service excellence is a plus
- Certification in cosmetology or barbering is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing training in hair threading, eyelash extensions, or makeup application is encouraged
