We are seeking a Production Group Leader for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shifts!
Job Purpose
The Valve Guide Group Leader will be responsible for supporting the Valve Guide Department while maintaining a safe, quality conscious and efficient work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure operators operate equipment in safe, quality and efficient manner.
- Ensure all PDS, production floor travelers, first piece sample tags, production totals reports, powder order tickets, or any newly developed/approved check sheets/forms are properly filled out/signed off, as required for successful production.
- As directed by the Supervisors, aid in controlling working assignments and monitors performance of all responsible associates to ensure they meet minimum expectations.
- Perform job duties as set forth by work instructions.
- Report any potential problem to Supervisor/Management for analysis and review.
- Ensure all responsible areas of parts storage are maintained in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Aid in training associates to ensure each individual reaches the skill level needed to effectively operate their assigned equipment.
- Cover other group leader or operator duties during absence as assigned by Supervisor.
- Participate in resolution of external/internal quality issues.
- Participate in resolution of equipment problems/inefficiencies.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior leadership experience and/or training
Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Intermediate math skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
Working Conditions
- This position operates in a manufacturing environment subject to loud noises, high temperatures and dirty working conditions.
- Associates are required to wear safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection at all times while on the production floor.
Physical Requirements
- Associate must be able to stand, walk, bend, turn or reach for long periods of time.
- Associate must be able to lift up to 35 pounds repetitively.
- Associates are required to use their hands to hold and feel objects
- Able to push, pull, guide and roll heavy powder hoppers to compacting location.
- Associates may be required to push / pull heavy skids with manual pallet jack.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Acts as back-up to supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
