Mechanical Field Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Installation Technician to install, service, and support our laser welding safety enclosures and gantry systems at customer sites. This role involves hands-on assembly, equipment servicing, and direct customer interaction across a diverse product line.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Assembly
- Assemble and install products at customer locations to meet project specifications
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Utilize hand tools and measurement equipment to complete high-quality builds
- Ensure all installations meet company and customer quality standards
Field Service & Support
- Disassemble and reconfigure systems as required
- Service gantry systems and related equipment
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers
Coordination & Communication
- Provide daily updates on project status and completed work
- Collaborate with contractors, temporary staff, and customer teams
- Offer technical direction when needed at installation sites
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- Large structure assembly
- Field installations or building trades
- (Millwright or machine builder experience strongly preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools and measurement instruments
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot in the field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining safety standards
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for 1–4 weeks at a time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime as needed
- Comfortable supervising and working alongside contractors and customer personnel
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or technical/vocational training preferred
