Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Wood Room Lead to oversee the operations within our wood room. This role involves leading production activities, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, manufacturing experience, and proficiency with various machining and fabrication tools, playing a vital part in delivering high-quality wood products efficiently.
Duties
- Supervise daily wood processing operations, including CNC machining and the sanding process.
- Operate a CNC milling machine.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Manage materials handling tasks using forklifts and hand tools to ensure smooth workflow.
- Conduct quality control inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Maintain safety standards by enforcing proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and factory protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line processes, tooling setup, and fabrication projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through troubleshooting mechanical issues and optimizing manufacturing processes.
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in a manufacturing or factory setting with exposure to woodworking or metal fabrication environments. Prior experience and proficiency with running a CNC machine, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge is essential. Experience operating forklifts and understanding materials handling procedures will be advantageous. Strong skills in basic math, quality assurance practices, warehouse operations, and the use of hand tools are necessary for success in this role.
