Job Summary:
As a Junior Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the timely and accurate delivery of packages and shipments. You will be responsible for dispatching our team of couriers to various locations, optimizing delivery routes, and ensuring all deliveries are completed promptly. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced growing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and process incoming delivery orders from clients and customers.
Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Dispatch and communicate with couriers throughout their shifts, providing necessary instructions and updates.
Back-up driver when needed.
Monitor deliveries in real-time and proactively address any delays or issues.
Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve delivery-related inquiries or concerns.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery, tracking information, and any incidents or exceptions.
Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure the timely availability of packages for delivery.
Monitor and manage courier performance, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or related fields are a plus.
Proven experience in a dispatching or logistics coordination role is preferred.
Familiarity with courier management software and GPS tracking systems is advantageous.
Strong geographical knowledge of the NYC and surrounding areas.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with couriers, customers, and team members professionally.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to address delivery challenges.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
