We are a large, fast-paced recycling facility in Central Texas seeking a dependable, hardworking Facility Maintenance & Operations Technician to help keep our operation clean, organized, safe, and efficient. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining a clean work environment, and wants to learn the recycling industry from the ground up.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and organization of our facility while receiving hands-on training from experienced equipment operators and management. As you develop your skills, you will gain exposure to every aspect of our recycling operation, creating opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Continuously clean and organize the recycling facility, work areas, and traffic lanes
- Operate a forklift safely to move containers, materials, and equipment (training available if needed)
- Sweep and maintain roadways, buildings, and processing areas using large industrial brooms and other cleaning equipment
- Empty trash containers and maintain waste collection areas
- Perform weed trimming and general grounds maintenance using a weed eater and other landscaping tools
- Assist equipment operators with daily operational tasks
- Support routine maintenance and housekeeping projects throughout the facility
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Learn the operation of recycling equipment and facility processes through on-the-job training
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and management
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the day
- Comfortable operating or learning to operate forklifts and other equipment
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required—we will train the right candidate

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
