Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials to our fabricators/welders. Your expertise in forklift operation will ensure smooth operations and accurate inventory management. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift trucks in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Load and unload shipments using a forklift
- Keep machines unloaded and fabricators loaded with material
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and materials handling to move products within the shop efficiently.
- Be detail oriented and organized as far as keeping jobs separated correctly
- Perform routine equipment repair checks and report maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation of all heavy equipment.
- Follow safety protocols during all activities, including proper lifting techniques and adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Assist with shipping & receiving duties by verifying inbound/outbound shipments and ensuring proper documentation.
- Collaborate with supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety standards in production, and enhance overall warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipment quantities accurately.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards related to forklift safety protocols and general warehouse safety practices.
- Experience involving order picking, load & unload procedures, and materials handling is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors on daily tasks.
