Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns to accurately document service requests.
- Explain repair recommendations clearly, highlighting necessary repairs and optional services to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue through upselling.
- Prepare detailed work orders for technicians, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, providing updates on vehicle status and explaining repair procedures in understandable terms.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately during billing and payment processing.
- Promote automotive services by identifying opportunities for additional maintenance or repairs based on vehicle diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair procedures across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and diesel engines.
- Previous service writing or auto estimating experience is essential for success in this role.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body work.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
