American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of CVOR experience for a hospital surgical services position.

Work in a hospital CVOR unit
-
1:1 patient ratio
-
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
-
13-week assignment length
-
Cerner charting experience preferred
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CVOR setting required
-
BLS certification required
-
CST, NBSTSA, and NCCT certifications preferred
-
ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
-
License required if applicable
-
Travel experience highly preferred
-
Proficiency in vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, and general surgery procedures
-
Experience with robotics including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
-
Skilled in aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection
-
Knowledge of universal protocol (time out) procedures
-
Experience with care of scopes, fiber optic equipment, and electrosurgical units
-
Support cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and general surgical procedures in the CVOR
-
Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical cases
-
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and establishing sterile fields
-
Participate in surgical site verification and time out procedures
-
Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulator
-
Maintain a clean and safe operating room environment
-
Use proper body mechanics and infection control precautions including PPE and isolation precautions
-
Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
-
Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen
-
Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
