Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures and products, supporting various construction and manufacturing projects. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication specifications.
- Perform welding operations using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), techniques in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Assist in daily CNC operations.
- Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal and other metal materials utilizing calipers, micrometers, and power tools.
- Fabricate metal components by using shop math, rigging, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including proper use of measuring instruments, hand tools, and rigging equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or fabrication shop tasks involving ductwork, piping, or structural assemblies.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products using calipers, micrometers, schematics, and measuring instruments to ensure specifications are met.
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication shop environment involving metal fabrication and welding.
- Demonstrated proficiency in blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with various welding techniques including MIG.
- Familiarity with construction equipment such as forklifts or other material handling machinery is preferred.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication practices.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for quality assurance purposes.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to fabrication shop processes including machining, plasma cutting, press brake operation, soldering, and schematics comprehension.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols applicable to welding environments and construction sites.
