Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and assist with modalities under supervision.
- Monitor patient responses during treatment sessions and document progress accurately following clinical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and sanitation protocols are followed.
- Maintain comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) management, ensuring all clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation are complete and compliant.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for post-treatment routines and providing education on exercises and care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across settings like outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, and home health to optimize patient outcomes.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the principles of physiotherapy.
- Proven experience with clinical assessment documentation, medical documentation standards, and electronic health records (EHR) management.
- Skilled in manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities.
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring care in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Ability to perform thorough clinical assessments and contribute to comprehensive care plans.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients on treatment procedures and discharge instructions effectively.
