Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Science Teacher to join our educational team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Duties
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse instructional strategies and technology tools to enhance student learning.
- Conduct laboratory experiments safely while guiding students through scientific research methods and laboratory procedures.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, project evaluations, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and curiosity among students.
- Offer tutoring sessions and academic advising to help students excel in science subjects and prepare for future educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design to ensure cohesive delivery of science education across grade levels.
- Mentor students in scientific research projects or club activities that promote hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom.
- Engage with parents and guardians through conferences to communicate student progress and discuss strategies for academic success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, or physics are preferred.
- Proven classroom experience teaching middle school science with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design principles.
- Extensive knowledge of scientific concepts including genetics, microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, differential equations, discrete math, molecular biology, and trigonometry.
- Demonstrated laboratory experience with dissection techniques, microbiology procedures, research laboratory practices, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools such as virtual labs, digital assessment platforms, and educational software is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Experience in classroom management strategies that foster an inclusive environment conducive to active participation and inquiry-based learning.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to different learning styles while maintaining high standards for academic achievement.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience tutoring or mentoring students for academic success in science subjects.
Pay: $43,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
