Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Dialysis Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of dialysis services within our healthcare facility. This leadership role involves managing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional patient care. Duties
- Oversee daily dialysis operations, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff, technicians, and support personnel involved in dialysis treatment delivery.
- Develop and implement policies aligned with HIPAA, long-term care regulations, and hospital standards to maintain compliance.
- Monitor patient assessments, vital signs, vascular access care, catheterization procedures, and medication administration related to dialysis.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans including IV infusion and catheter care, and discharge planning.
- Manage staff scheduling, training programs on sterile technique, infection control, and emergency procedures like airway management.
- Conduct quality assurance activities including utilization review, case management, and adherence to NCQA standards.
- Facilitate communication across departments such as ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and pediatrics to optimize patient care.
- Lead efforts in managing care facility teams for patients with complex needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with dialysis patients and familiarity with IV insertion, catheterization, venipuncture, and sterile processing techniques.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth; strong medical documentation skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA and long-term care regulations; understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
- Demonstrated leadership in nurse management or medical-surgical environments; supervising multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; familiarity with acute pain management and ventilator support.
- Strong understanding of physiology related to renal function, cardiovascular health, and medication administration.
- Ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs monitoring and physical examinations.
- Excellent managerial communication skills; capable of coordinating complex workflows across departments.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; knowledge of behavioral health considerations.
- Competence in managing medical records accurately while ensuring compliance with state healthcare laws.
- Skilled in managing intake processes, discharge planning, utilization management, and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding.
