An Automation Technician III is a senior-level role responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex production equipment while ensuring strict adherence to cGMP, safety, and quality standards. They lead production activities, train junior staff, and implement process improvements. This role requires
years of experience, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Production & Troubleshooting: Execute complex manufacturing processes, including setup, calibration, and maintenance of equipment. Independently resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Quality & Compliance: Adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety, and environmental regulations. Review documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize processes, improve yield, and support new product technology transfers.
- Documentation: Review, rewrite, and initiate complex manufacturing procedures and documentation.
· Complex Maintenance & Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
· Preventive Maintenance: Executing routine inspections and maintenance on building systems and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance.
· Technical Troubleshooting: Analyzing and correcting complex technical issues on equipment and machinery, acting as an escalation point for lower-level technicians.
· Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all work complies with OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
· Documentation: Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or ticketing systems to log maintenance activities, repair costs, and inventory.
· Supervision & Leadership: Mentoring junior technicians (I and II), overseeing contractors, and guiding team members on technical skills.

· Coordinate and drive warranty requests
· Complete all repairs of equipment in a timely manner and by the manufacturer’s repair guidelines.
· Judgment and Decision Making - Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate course of action.
· Inspecting Equipment - Perform audits on equipment audits per the PM Planning tools schedule in Field Connect service platform.
Note: This position does not require programming. The technician supports and coordinates with the authorized contractor/vendor for software work.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Generally, 5–7 years of related manufacturing experience in a technical role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree or technical certification is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using, assembling, and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical equipment.
- Strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills (motors, drives, sensors, safety devices).
- Capabilities: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical procedures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on 12-hour shifts, including weekends, in clean room or specialized production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in facilities using fleet management software (monitoring, basic diagnostics, operational support).
- Prior experience working with Allen Bradley related software RS Logic, Studio 5000, Factory Talk.
- Familiarity with warehouse/manufacturing operations (WMS/WCS exposure is a plus).
Salary Range & Benefits
Salary Range
- $33.00 – $43.00 per hour (hourly; overtime eligible as applicable)
- Final offer based on experience, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting capability, and shift assignment.
