EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports the upkeep and safe operation of vehicles and equipment by performing repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks. As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic, you will perform the following duties: Vehicle Repair: Repair vehicles and equipment including engines, brakes, electrical components, and mechanical systemsPreventative Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance programs, tune ups, tire changes, and system adjustmentsState Inspections: Conduct official safety and emissions inspections and complete related paperworkDiagnostic Work: Use diagnostic tools and procedures to identify problems and determine repair methodsEquipment Care: Clean, service, and make field adjustments to equipment to reduce wear and improve performanceSafety Awareness: Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and maintain a clean and safe work areaInterested in learning more? Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $55,492.00 (before taxes).
