Summary:
Active, enthusiastic, and caring individuals are needed for STAR Counselor positions for the 2026/2027 school year. Programs include Before and After School and Days Off programs, and Winter/Spring Break camps.
Counselor responsibilities include monitoring and interacting with participants, leading and developing activities, and maintaining a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Staff will also provide support to individual students and assist with all aspects of the program while delivering quality customer service to families and guests of the Hoffman Estates Park District.

Days/Hours of Work:
Morning shift: 6:45 am – 8:30 am/9:00 am
AM shift hourly range starts at $16.00
Afternoon Shift: 2:45 pm-6:00 pm/2:15 pm - 6:00 pm/1:30 pm -6:00 pm.
PM shift hourly range starts at $15.50
Assigned work days and hours vary based on availability.
Experience and Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age

Experience working with children in grades K–6 preferred

Strong skills in planning and leading activities for children

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with children, parents, and team members

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Dependable with reliable attendance and punctuality

Energetic, enthusiastic, and positive attitude

Ability to enforce Park District rules and safety procedures

CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
