Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to support their personal hygiene and comfort.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, tracking changes, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition.
- Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility and prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices to uphold hygiene standards.
- Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful communication to foster trust, comfort, and social interaction.
- Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety during travel.
- Support residents with specialized needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or developmental disabilities by implementing tailored care strategies.
- Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations and interventions accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and respond appropriately to their needs.
- Experience with patient monitoring techniques such as vital signs measurement and medication administration.
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice support, or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your effectiveness.
- Knowledge of manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods ensures safety during mobility assistance.
- Proven skills in caregiving roles supporting individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges are highly valued.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to healthcare or senior care are advantageous.
