Adjunct Electrical Instructor – Saturday
Schedule: Saturdays | Approximately 4 hours of instruction plus 1 hour of preparation per week
National Technical Institute (NTI) is seeking an experienced electrical professional to join our Houston North campus as an Adjunct Electrical Instructor. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to share their real-world knowledge and help prepare the next generation of skilled electrical professionals.
This part-time position teaches on Saturdays and typically includes approximately four hours of classroom and hands-on instruction, along with one hour of preparation each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging instruction in the theory and hands-on application of electrical systems and practices.
- Deliver NTI’s approved curriculum and help students achieve established program outcomes.
- Demonstrate proper electrical procedures, tool usage, and safe work practices.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials for scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
- Provide clear direction, hold students accountable, and support student retention and success.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and productive classroom and lab environment.
- Ensure all applicable safety policies and procedures are followed in the lab.
- Properly manage classroom and lab equipment, tools, materials, and consumables.
- Remain current on industry practices, code requirements, and technical changes within the electrical field.
- Participate in professional development or training activities as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least five years of professional electrical experience required.
- Current applicable electrical license required.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, safety procedures, and industry practices.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to students with different levels of experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and solve problems.
- Ability to remain composed and professional in challenging situations.
- Prior teaching or training experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
This position involves working in classroom and lab settings. The instructor must be able to stand for extended periods, move throughout the classroom and lab, communicate effectively with students, operate tools and equipment, and demonstrate trade-related tasks safely. The role may occasionally require lifting or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
