Process Engineer – Houston Operations

In this vital role you will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes to increase product performance, improve manufacturing efficiency and boost profits. Process engineers work closely with Production, Marketing, and Quality teams to support the development of new plastic products. You will be responsible for providing the overall process design and suggesting improvements to product design for manufacturability. This includes the development of new equipment and process flows as well as developing cost estimates for labor and capital. This position also provides daily support to production lines.
General Duties
- Promote Ensinger’s safety goals, ensuring safe work practices and demonstrate a zero tolerance for non-compliance with safe procedures, policies and regulations
- Develop processes to manufacture new products within current equipment and tooling capabilities
- Execute projects to improve process control and data collection
- Plan and implement capital projects to expand process capabilities
- Establish and maintain product routings and bills of material
- Establish or modify process parameters to optimize compression molding outputs
- Analyze quality data and lead root cause investigations to develop corrective actions
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal resources
- Improve equipment or processes to enhance safety & ergonomics
- Review existing and author new process validation reports
- Follow QMS procedures, and update Standard Operating Procedures for production
Required Education and Experience
- 4 year degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical or Materials Engineering
- 2 years’ experience in the plastics industry and/or compression molding preferred
- Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Familiarity with ISO procedures preferred
