Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist with installing and maintaining erosion control devices such as silt fences, sediment basins, and erosion mats to prevent soil runoff during construction activities
- Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar equipment to support site preparation and earthmoving tasks
- Support paving operations and highway maintenance activities by handling power tools and manual labor tasks
- Conduct utility locating to ensure safe excavation and construction practices in compliance with safety protocols
- Perform traffic control for work zones to ensure safety for workers and the public during outdoor construction activities
- Follow FMCSA regulations for commercial truck driving when transporting materials or equipment between sites
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by using hand tools, welding equipment, and adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Prior construction experience, especially in road construction or civil infrastructure projects
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and Caterpillar machinery with mechanical knowledge of these tools
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations for commercial truck driving and safe handling of power tools and hand tools
- Experience with utility locating, highway maintenance, welding, and working on outdoor construction sites preferred
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence and traffic control procedures for work zones
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating commercial trucks; CDL certification is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of construction standards and working on civil infrastructure projects is highly desirable
