Position Description
Seeking a Data Architect to support and modernize an existing Enterprise Data Warehouse, Reporting, and Enterprise Search environment for a federal agency. The Architect will serve as a SME on all aspects of data management; make recommendations for improvements; research solutions; and lead using data management and Cloud best practices. Responsibilites include:
Design data architectures, including DW and Data Lakes, to support enterprise analytics and search
Develop scripts to load and retrieve data content
Perform database support and maintenance activities
Conduct performance tuning and database design
Dimensional analysis, modeling
Develop and support SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages, Python packages, and/or emerging technologies for ETL processing
Provide support and assist in establishing database standards and best practices
Design / modernize data management strategy using Cloud technologies
Develop roadmaps for enhanced data architectures which ensure optimal data storage and enhanced analysis capabilities aligning with customer priorities.
The projected compensation range for this position is $170K - $200K annualized (USD). The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal pay equity, location, contract-specific affordability and other organizational requirements.
Required Skills
10+ years’ experience with data analysis, data migration tools, data modeling, data integration, data warehousing and database design.
5+ years’ experience in addressing issues of data migration/validation, clean-up and mapping, and shall produce and maintain the data dictionaries.
5+ years’ experience with providing technical support in the research, experimentation, business analysis, and use of systems technology, including architecture, integration capabilities, and database management.
5+ years’ experience with providing technical and data leadership for the application developers and the IT infrastructure, being conversant with and cognizant of the future direction of systems, how that direction will impact enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise.
5+ years’ experience working closely with other IT groups to coordinate current and future IT plans and activities, including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing environment, the coordination of software upgrades, and the installation of new products.
5+ years’ experience with recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
Candidate must be U.S. citizen and local to the Washington DC Metro area. Must be able to work on-site at customer locations in Northern VA. Telework options may be identified as the Government deems appropriate.
Active DoD or DEA Secret clearance is required.
