Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions, ensuring prompt assessment, stabilization, and treatment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in critical care procedures, advanced patient assessment, and emergency response protocols.
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (ER)
Shift: Night 3×12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (09/08/2026 – 12/07/2026)
Location: Marshall, MI
Start Date: 09/08/2026
Travel Pay: $2,362/week for 36 hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough triage assessments to prioritize patient needs based on severity and acuity levels, utilizing established protocols and clinical judgment.
- Provide immediate emergency interventions including airway management, IV infusion, suturing, and medication administration in accordance with aseptic techniques and hospital policies.
- Perform detailed physical examinations, vital sign monitoring, and diagnostic evaluations to inform clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with diverse medical conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, cardiac emergencies, or neurological issues.
- Manage complex procedures including catheterization, ventilator management, laboratory specimen collection, and wound care while adhering to infection control standards.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, post-discharge instructions, and health promotion strategies.
- Assist in the stabilization of critically ill patients in Level I or Level II trauma centers or intensive care units (ICUs), utilizing advanced critical care techniques.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Minimum of two years of ER experience within a hospital setting; experience working with Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; strong medical documentation skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures including airway management, IV insertion, and aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), basic life support (BLS), neonatal resuscitation protocols (NRP), and trauma response procedures.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), laboratory testing procedures, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
