Cal West Manufacturing is a growing precision manufacturing company specializing in high-quality fabricated and machined components for the aerospace and commercial industries. As our aerospace business continues to expand, we're looking for an ambitious Quality Engineer who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow with our company. Aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus, but it is not required. We're willing to invest in the right person who has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for solving problems.
Responsibilities
- Support daily quality activities throughout the manufacturing process.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Assist with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Help investigate nonconforming parts and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with production, welding, machining, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in maintaining our AS9100 Quality Management System.
- Participate in internal audits and customer quality audits.
- Maintain inspection records, calibration documentation, and quality reports.
- Help identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Ensure products meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Equivalent manufacturing experience with strong mechanical aptitude will also be considered.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T is a plus.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges is helpful.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
