Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and repairing as needed to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and other hand or power tools.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to determine project scope and specifications.
- Perform structural painting tasks on various surfaces such as stucco, masonry, concrete, wood trim, fixtures, and framing components.
- Conduct surface preparation for construction spray painting and industrial coating applications in accordance with safety regulations.
- Use ladders safely for elevated work; ensure proper placement and stability during painting tasks.
- Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Assist with renovation projects by performing carpentry tasks like trim carpentry or fixture installation when required.
- Maintain tools and equipment including power tools, hand tools, paint sprayers, and scaffolding to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential painting along with construction site experience; familiarity with blueprint reading is essential.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus.
- Strong understanding of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects.
- Skilled in surface preparation techniques such as sanding, caulking, plastering, and masonry work.
- Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools including airless paint sprayers, spray guns (conventional or industrial), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding safely.
- Experience with construction estimating or interpreting technical drawings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction painting environments; committed to adhering strictly to safety protocol standards.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience in remodeling or renovation projects is preferred.
- Additional skills such as welding, concrete finishing, framing carpentry or handyman experience are beneficial but not mandatory.
