Job Summary
We are seeking a Teacher who is Assistant Director qualified in the state of Illinois to join our Launch Enrichment Team! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience working with Infants and Toddlers and must meet the qualifications for IL DCFS for BOTH Teacher & Assistant Director. This position combines hands-on classroom teaching with occasional leadership responsibilities - making it ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with young children while helping support the daily operations of a high-quality childcare program.
Educational Requirements (as per IL DCFS 407)
- HS Diploma or GED; and
- IL Gateways Registry Membership; and
- Bachelor or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education;
- 60+ College Semester Hours w/ 21 College Semester Hours in ECE
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using appropriate classroom management techniques.
- Provide individualized support to children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring an inclusive environment for all learners.
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience for all students.
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development and milestones.
- Complete daily closing classroom duties such as turning all lights off, bottle warmers cleaned, floors swept, etc.
- Foster positive relationships with families through daily communication and professionalism.
- Serve as the Assistant Director on Duty during the Director's absence and during the last two hours of each workday.
- Support staff, help maintain licensing compliance, and address day-to-day center needs as they are assigned.
Experiential Requirements
- MINIMUM of 2 years experience in Illinois childcare center.
- Must be Assistant Director qualified in the State of Illinois; 60+ college credit hours with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make sound decisions independently.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and education.
