American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Pediatric ICU position in Rochester, MN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and Level 1 trauma background.

Position is located in a hospital-based Pediatric ICU (PICU) setting
-
The PICU serves a diverse critically ill pediatric population including medical, surgical, trauma, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and pulmonary cases
-
Unit is a designated pediatric liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplant unit, also caring for patients with congenital and complex multi-organ conditions
-
13-week contract with 36 hours per week, 3x12-hour shifts
-
Day/Night rotation with shifts running 0700–1930 and 1900–0730
-
Every 3rd weekend required

Floating required as needed
-
Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
-
On-site only — no remote or telework options
-
Active MN RN license required — no pending license accepted

Graduation from an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required, must not expire within 3 months of start date

Current PALS (AHA) certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience required

Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience required
-
Minimum 1 year of travel RN experience required, or a total of 3 travel assignments completed

Level 1 trauma experience and intubated patient care experience required

Solid organ transplant experience strongly preferred

CCRN and TNCC (TCTCN) certifications strongly preferred

COVID vaccination and booster required for eligibility

Date of birth required for consideration

Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering direct nursing care, patient and family education, and managing transitions of care for critically ill pediatric patients
-
RNs are expected to function within a professional nursing practice model, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care
-
Leadership activities such as preceptoring, informal leadership, and quality improvement participation are expected
-
Up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment may be subject to cancellation due to low census
-
Travelers who have been on assignment for one continuous calendar year must take a 30–60 day break before returning to a new assignment — contact your recruiter for details

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the travel experience requirement
