About the Role
We’re looking for a high-agency Chief of Staff who will keep Barrel RM organized, effective, and moving forward.
In this role, you’ll work closely with company leadership and be expected to take ownership of the day-to-day operating rhythm of the office and organization. You’ll be trusted to represent Barrel RM and expected to understand what is happening across the company, anticipate needs, connect the dots, and independently drive things to resolution.
On any given day, you might coordinate an important customer visit, improve an internal process, prepare leadership for a meeting, resolve an office or people issue, organize a company-wide tracker, follow up on an important project, or step into something unexpected that simply needs to get done.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with company leadership to organize priorities, meetings, decisions, and follow-through, including scheduling, preparation, action items, and other executive support as needed.
- Be a trusted resource for the team—staying close to how people are doing, identifying gaps or opportunities to improve the employee experience, and bringing feedback and recommendations to company leadership.
- Identify operational gaps and build simple systems and processes that make the company more organized, effective, and efficient.
- Help create an energetic, professional, and welcoming environment that reinforces the culture Barrel RM wants to build through day-to-day interactions, team activities, and company events.
- Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and basic people operations, including workspace setup, records, documentation, and coordination.
- Own the day-to-day operation of the office—managing supplies, vendors, facilities needs, access, organization, and serving as the go-to person for office questions and issues.
- Track office-level compliance and regulatory requirements related to the space, staff, and operations, including documents, renewals, and deadlines.
- Coordinate travel, visitors, meetings, and other company logistics, including working with building management and service providers as needed.
What Success Looks Like
- Leadership stays focused on strategic priorities, knowing commitments and follow-through are being actively managed.
- The team has a trusted, approachable resource who helps surface needs, identify issues early, and improve the employee experience.
- The office runs smoothly and professionally, especially when company leadership is traveling.
- Important information, processes, deadlines, and recurring requirements are organized, current, and easy to navigate.
- Gaps and inefficiencies are identified proactively, with practical solutions put in place before they become larger problems.
- Employees, customers, partners, and visitors experience Barrel RM as an energetic, organized, and well-run company.
Who This Role Is For
- You’re comfortable moving between very different kinds of work—from supporting leadership or improving a process to solving an everyday office problem.
- You’re willing to take on both high-visibility priorities and unglamorous details with the same level of care.
- You’re ambitious and excited by the opportunity to take on more responsibility as the company grows.
- You thrive in a small, fast-moving environment where priorities can change and not everything comes with a defined process or playbook.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in a high-ownership role such as business operations, executive support, project coordination, office operations, hospitality, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to interact effectively with employees, customers, partners, vendors, and company leadership.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace and learning new tools, systems, and processes.
- Able to work full-time on-site
