Location: Santa Barbara, California (Full-Time, On-Site)
We are seeking an exceptional accountant to become a trusted member of a private family office supporting a high-net-worth entrepreneur with international business interests.
This is far more than a traditional accounting role. You will play a key part in establishing and managing a new US corporate structure while overseeing both personal and corporate financial affairs. As the business grows, you will also help build internal finance and administrative capabilities, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys creating systems and helping businesses scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations for both personal and business entities.
- Coordinate and oversee US federal and state corporate and personal tax matters.
- Work closely with external CPAs, tax advisors, attorneys and banking partners.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining a new US corporate structure and related entities.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts and cash flow analyses.
- Support strategic financial planning and corporate governance.
- Develop efficient financial systems, processes and internal controls.
- Assist with recruitment and development of future finance and administrative team members.
- Coordinate international payments, banking relationships and financial administration across multiple jurisdictions.
- Handle confidential financial information with absolute discretion and professionalism.
Ideal Candidate
- CPA (or equivalent accounting qualification) preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Previous experience working within a family office or directly supporting high-net-worth individuals is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of US corporate and personal taxation.
- Experience with entity formation, corporate structuring and working alongside legal and tax professionals.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve quickly.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Naturally proactive and able to anticipate needs without requiring constant direction.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with senior advisors and executives.
- Absolute integrity and discretion.
Bonus Qualifications
- International business or cross-border tax exposure.
- Well travelled with an appreciation for working across multiple countries, cultures and time zones.
- Interest in technology, automation and artificial intelligence, with enthusiasm for using modern tools to improve efficiency.
- Experience helping build teams or supporting rapidly growing businesses.
- Familiarity with investment reporting, family office operations or private wealth management.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who wants to become a long-term strategic partner rather than simply fill an accounting position. The successful candidate will enjoy solving complex problems, building systems from the ground up and supporting an ambitious entrepreneur as new businesses and investments are developed in the United States.
This is a rare opportunity to join at the beginning of an exciting growth phase and have a meaningful impact on both the business and the family office.
Compensation is competitive and will reflect experience and qualifications.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
