Lee County Youth Development Center (LCYDC) is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and mission-driven Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team.

The Licensed Practical Nurse plays an important role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals we serve. The LPN will provide nursing care, coordinate health-related services, maintain accurate documentation, support medication management, and partner with clinical and program staff to ensure high-quality care.

What You'll Do
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will:
- Provide nursing care and health-related support to individuals served by LCYDC.
- Assess health needs and respond appropriately to illnesses, injuries, and other medical concerns.
- Administer and oversee medications in accordance with physician orders, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and nursing documentation.
- Monitor changes in health status and communicate concerns to appropriate clinical, program, and leadership team members.
- Coordinate medical appointments, follow-up care, and other health services as needed.
- Review physician orders and ensure appropriate implementation and documentation.
- Provide health education and guidance to individuals served and staff.
- Assist with medication administration training and competency requirements for designated staff, as applicable.
- Maintain appropriate infection-control and health-and-safety practices.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with behavioral health, clinical, residential, and program teams.
- Support compliance with applicable healthcare standards, licensing requirements, and organizational policies.
- Assist with emergency response and provide appropriate nursing intervention when needed.
- Build positive, professional relationships with individuals served, families, employees, healthcare providers, and community partners.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Alabama, or eligibility for appropriate Alabama licensure.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain required certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care.
- Ability to meet applicable background screening and other employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous nursing experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults.
- Experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential services, community health, human services, or a related setting.
- Experience with medication administration and medication-management systems.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary care environment.
