Construction Company Accountant Position (Junior Level)
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch break)
About Us
We are a growing design and construction company seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Accounting Professional to support our daily financial operations and project accounting needs. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate job costing, payroll, and financial reporting in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for construction projects and company finances.
- Process Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and lien waiver tracking.
- Prepare and maintain project running budgets and job costing reports, ensuring accurate cost tracking on a weekly basis.
- Reconcile credit card statements on a monthly basis.
- Track jobsite worker attendance (Jobsite/Wire system) and process bi-weekly payroll.
- Maintain subcontractor agreements, insurance certificates, W-9 forms, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure proper cost allocation and timely project reporting.
- Maintain organized digital and physical accounting files and records.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks (Desktop).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting principles preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Bilingual in English and Korean preferred (ability to communicate in both languages is a plus)
Requirements
- Full-time in-office position (strict adherence to office hours required).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Salary & Benefits
- $48,000 – $60,000 per year (based on experience)
- 90-day probationary period
