Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Experience teaching in self-contained or resource settings at the high school level preferred
- Deep understanding of neurodiversity and ability to adapt instruction for diverse learner needs
- Commitment to creating equitable, inclusive learning environments
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the individual IEPs of neuro-diverse high school students
- Develop, modify, and implement lesson plans aligned with student goals
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that prioritizes students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
