InGenesis is currently seeking an Associate Rangeland Management Specialist to work with our client. In this role, you will be responsible for aiding in the oversight and coordination of the surface estate associated with the 2.1 million acres of the Permanent University Fund (PUF) Lands. You will also be responsible for promoting surface income and managing the natural resources related to rangeland and wildlife operations, while stewarding and enhancing the long-term health, productivity, and sustainability of the surface resources.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor compliance with University Lands grazing leases and support land management goals.
- Assist with coordinating land use activities to promote sustainable productivity and protect natural resources.
- Support evaluation of wildlife populations, hunting markets, and harvest recommendations.
- Help manage and track funding programs for grazing, wildlife, and land improvement projects.
- Conduct aerial wildlife surveys, prepare reports, and make management recommendations based on findings.
- Perform grazing lease inspections, document observations, and monitor corrective action plans.
- Assist with evaluating rangeland conditions, including soil and vegetation, to support grazing management recommendations.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with grazing lessees through regular communication and site visits.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure compliance with leases, policies, and applicable regulations.
- Review and monitor lease improvement and cost-share project applications through project completion.
- Support monitoring of oil field operations and encourage best management practices to minimize surface impacts.
- Manage competing priorities and adapt work schedules to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and support long-term land stewardship.
- Identify and help resolve conflicts through collaborative problem-solving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, biology, wildlife management, or related field.
- Expertise in land management, conservation, and natural resource management.
- Must possess a valid driver s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in natural resource management, biology, wildlife management, or related field.
- Direct experience in related discipline.
- Exposure and technical knowledge of the oil and gas industry and knowledge of land resource management, land ownership, and stewardship in West Texas and the Trans Pecos region.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed outdoors around oil and gas operations, pipelines, and other commercial facilities, utilizing multiple surveillance technologies and in a professional office environment with standard office conditions located in Midland, TX.
