Mount Carmel is seeking a Full Time (minimum of 30 hours/week) ministry position, focusing on the spiritual formation and Christian education of all age groups. This position will report directly to the Pastor with a close working relationship with the mission deacons (discipleship subgroup).
Salary: $50,000-60,000
Qualifications:
1. Faithful disciple of Jesus
2. A clearly articulated calling into ministry
3. Bachelors Degree
4. Masters of Divinity Degree, or equitable education/experience
Primary Responsibilities:
- To lead congregants into a relationship with Jesus
- To create a hunger and desire in congregants to know more about who God is.
- To be available as a spiritual counselor.
- To teach the importance of being both a disciple and a disciple-maker.
- To build personal relationships with the congregants and their families.
- To be visible and available in the church and community, representing Jesus and His church, demonstrating care and a graceful witness.
- To implement the vision for discipleship by working collaboratively with the church staff, lay leaders, and group participants.
Specific Duties:
1. Personal Involvement in both worship services.
2. Identifying, recruiting, training, resourcing, and appreciating leaders of small groups
3. Identifying, recruiting, training, resourcing, and appreciating leaders of Sunday school classes
4. Training, resourcing, and appreciating staff members that serve in discipleship areas
5. Coordinating events and service opportunities for discipleship groups
6. Providing oversight for budget in discipleship areas
7. Attending monthly mission deacons meetings (specific attention to discipleship subgroup)
** Current discipleship areas include but are not limited to: Nursery/Prek, Weekday Preschool, Children’s ministry, Youth ministry, College ministry, Adult Sunday School, Adult Small Groups
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
