Purpose:
The truck driver’s position is expected to work as a valued member of the shipping department and receiving operations. This job will primarily consist of regional vehicle operations involving moving and positioning trucks/trailers/equipment between United Ag & Turf facilities to/from purchasing customers as well as vendor locations. On occasion, deliveries will be required outside of local regions.
Essential Functions
The following are essential functions of this position:

Operate United Ag & Turf owned trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.

Operate trucks for delivery, pickup, and relocation of commercial, farm, lawn equipment and other parts or materials if directed.

Operate, load, and unload commercial, agricultural and lawn equipment.

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned trucks/equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor.

Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.

Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and United Ag & Turf safety programs. This includes but is not limited to valid DOT physical exam cards and CDL licenses.

Maintain and protect all United Ag & Turf property in excellent condition.

Talking and hearing. Additionally, this position is active and requires standing, walking, balancing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and /or move items up to 50 lbs. The employee is constantly required to use both hands/arms to drive, operate equipment and secure loads.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

1+ years experience as semi-trailer truck operator
-
Valid CDL License and clean background
-
Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 lbs. repeatedly

High School diploma or equivalent experience
-
Openings for experienced delivery drivers to deliver agriculture, commercial, and construction equipment.

Expert knowledge of binding, strapping, chaining of machinery and equipment
-
Familiar with the use of a computer

Ability to operate forklift

Ability to pull at least 32' trailer
-
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly

Must have previous equipment operating/transporting experience

Must have a positive, friendly attitude towards customers.

Experience working cooperatively in a team environment

Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing

Must be capable of using computers, email, iPads, iPhones and electronic log programs
Preferred Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED.
