Our Temporary Retail Associate supports embarc's onsite dispensary operations during the California State Fair. This role is focused on delivering strong customer experiences, executing sales transactions, and supporting high-volume retail operations in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, staying organized, and contributing to a team during a high-energy, limited-time event.
Must be available from July 6 through August 2 and able to commit to working a minimum of 10 event days.
Mandatory Training Dates:
- Deliver excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and guiding purchasing decisions.
- Process transactions accurately using POS systems, including Treez where applicable.
- Verify customer identification and ensure all compliance requirements are followed.
- Maintain strong product awareness and support customers with informed recommendations.
- Support team operations during peak hours, ensuring efficient flow and organization within the dispensary.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards within the workspace.
- Work assigned shifts in full and maintain reliability throughout the duration of the event.
- Must be available to work between July 6 and August 2.
- Must be able to commit to at least 10 event days.
- Shifts vary and may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Typical shift windows include:
- Monday through Thursday: Afternoon and evening shifts.
- Friday through Sunday: Morning, mid-day, and evening shifts.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Prior retail, customer service, or cannabis experience preferred.
- Experience with Treez or similar POS systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts in full.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in an active retail environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying shift lengths.
- Understanding that this is a temporary, event-based role tied to the State Fair.
