Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Non-Profit Accountant to manage the financial activities of our organization. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, managing grants, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and accounting records in accordance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards (e.g., FASB, IRS guidelines).
- Prepares and process payroll documents needed to implement payroll/personnel transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership, board of directors, and funders.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including tracking restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow and bank account activity and reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Support annual audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Track and report on grant funding and expenditures in compliance with donor and grant requirements.
- Ensures maintenance of effective internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements.
- Manage grant and contract files and prepare monthly billings to funders. Ensures that expenditures for budgets, and grants and contracts are monitored, and reports are prepared to maintain balanced accounts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a non-profit environment.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit financial management and fund accounting.
- Experience with accounting software Abila/MIP preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with grant accounting and reporting.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
