Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Office Manager to support our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for day to day accounting and office administration functions including maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, reconciling transactions, and supporting office operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, be tech-savvy, and comfortable managing day-to-day accounting functions in a collaborative team environment.
Duties:
· Record and reconcile incoming payments, including cheques, ACH, and wire transfers
· Produce invoices and collect payments from clients
· Monitor vendor bills and ensure timely and accurate payments
· Issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions and validate purchase amounts
· Track, research, and categorize expenses; maintain supporting documentation
· Prepare deposit batches and collaborate with external accountants
· Reconcile discrepancies in cash reports and customer accounts
· Assist in payroll preparation and address staff inquiries regarding accounting/payroll issues
· Provide backup support to administrative functions when needed
· Generate reports and maintain spreadsheets for financial tracking
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business required
- 8+ years of expereince in accounting and back office management
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping best practices
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (preferred), Microsoft Excel, and general office software
- Knowledge of payroll processing
- Experience working with cross-functional teams or small business environments
- Familiarity with Canadian accounting regulations and tax procedures
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment
- Occasional flexibility may be required during month-end or reporting cycles
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
