American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a medical oncology unit, requiring 2 years of experience and telemetry skills with night shift availability.

Inpatient medical oncology unit (17 James) within a cancer hospital and research setting
-
Unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with solid tumor cancers across all stages, including new diagnosis, active treatment, and end-of-life transition

Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy

Target patient ratio is 1:4, with a possible maximum of 1:5 based on unit needs

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs

Self-scheduling system used — candidates submit preferred schedule before the final schedule is posted

Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units

Charting via Epic
-
Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Current BLS certification required

Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required

ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Provides med/surg nursing care within an oncology setting, with a strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention

Orientation consists of the first week on day shift (Mon–Fri), followed by a second week of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
-
2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration, along with a full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration

Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may switch representation without a required break between assignments
