Lead Carpenter / Carpentry Foreman Pay: $40+ per hour, depending on experience
Experience Required: 5+ years of professional carpentry experience, plus proven foreman or leadership experience within the trades.
About Us: At M.C. Etter, we pride ourselves on delivering top-tier residential services across the Central Coast. We are looking for a strong, dedicated Carpentry Foreman to lead our crews on-site and uphold our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction for our high-end renovations and custom projects.
If you are looking to get out of larger companies where you are just waiting around for others to quit or retire to gain experience and advance your career, this is the place for you. We offer a uniquely high ceiling for opportunity and heavily reward hard work, leadership, and loyalty.
Job Description: We are seeking a driven Carpentry Foreman who is looking to grow their leadership experience by directing crews, overseeing complete jobs from start to finish, and ensuring every project is completed to the strict, high standards we pride ourselves on.
Because our work involves high-end residential clients, professionalism, dependability, and a clean presentation are non-negotiable. We are looking for someone who wants to embark on a long-term career journey with a growing company, not just punch a clock for a short-term job.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Leadership-Driven: You are eager to step up, manage the carpenters underneath you effectively, and oversee complete jobs from start to finish.
- The Standard-Setter: You take immense pride in your craft and ensure that your team completes every job to the highest possible quality standards.
- Professional & Presentable: You are a clean worker who maintains a neat, polished appearance and is entirely comfortable and public-facing with high-end residential clients.
- Trustworthy & Dependable: You arrive on time, lead by example with absolute integrity, and can be trusted inside clients' high-end homes.
- Career-Oriented: You are looking for a true career journey and a permanent home to plant roots, rather than bouncing from contractor to contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, direct, and lead a crew of carpenters on daily residential job sites, overseeing the complete job.
- Perform and supervise a wide range of rough carpentry tasks, including frame carpentry, framing walls, siding installation, window installation, decks, and fences.
- Execute high-end finish carpentry, including door installation, interior base, and trim work.
- Conduct thorough wood rot inspections and perform necessary remediation.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain an impeccably clean, polished, and organized job site to protect client property.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with high-end clients, general contractors, and company management regarding project progress.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of professional carpentry experience required, coupled with established foreman or leadership experience within the skilled trades.
- Skill Level: Expert-level knowledge of both rough framing and highly detailed finish carpentry.
- Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and provide a list of professional references (work samples/photos may be requested).
